Kalliopi Paleoudis Kousis attended Rutgers University, Rutgers College graduating in 1995 with a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Modern Greek. In 1995, Ms. Kousis began her law studies at Syracuse University College of Law in Syracuse, New York. During law school, she served as an Editor of the Syracuse Journal of International Law & Commerce Journal and was a Finalist in the Vienna Moot Competition.  In addition, Ms. Kousis earned the Certificate of Global Law & Practice during her studies at Syracuse and in her final year, represented children and their families in federal and state courts in The Children's Rights and Family Law Clinic.

Ms. Kousis comes to the Law Offices of Floyd G. Cottrell, P.A. from the Morris County Prosecutor's Office. Prior to that, she was a law clerk to the Honorable Salem Vincent Ahto, P.J.S.C. of the Morris County Superior Court.

Ms. Kousis is a partner in the firm since November 1, 2006. She is the Treasurer of the Hellenic American Bar Association and a member of the Greek Chamber of Commerce and is fluent in the Greek language. She also belongs to the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Bergen Bar Association, the New Jersey Defense Association and the Defense Research Institute. She is a Barrister in the Brennan-Vanderbilt Inns of Court.
